Artwork submission guidelines

At Snark and Spark, we're dedicated to bringing your unique visions to life. To ensure your custom items look absolutely amazing, understanding our artwork submission guidelines is key. Explore how to prepare your files for the best possible results on your t-shirts, coasters, stickers, and other handmade crafts.

Your artwork questions answered

We understand you might have questions about submitting your designs for custom items. Our goal is to make the process as smooth and clear as possible. Here are answers to common inquiries to help you get started with Snark and Spark.

What image file types work best for my custom items?

For the best quality on custom items like shirts, magnets, stickers, bookmarks, ornaments, and bottle openers, we recommend high-resolution images in formats such as SVG, PNG, JPEG, or TIFF. Vector files (like SVG) are ideal for logos and illustrations as they can be scaled without losing quality. If you're submitting photos, please ensure they are high-resolution (300 DPI or higher) for crisp printing. Feel free to use images for inspiration or directly in your design!

Can all images or designs be printed, or are there restrictions?

At Snark and Spark, we unfortunately cannot create projects with images that are copyrighted. Even if you acquire a file from platforms like Etsy or similar services, it's often not licensed for commercial use. We are happy to work with designs that are "in the likeness of" existing art, but we must strictly avoid infringing on copyrights.

What is the most crucial tip for ensuring my artwork prints perfectly?

The most important tip is to provide the highest resolution artwork possible. For crisp, clear prints, especially on items like t-shirts, coasters, and cutting boards, always aim for images with a resolution of 300 DPI (dots per inch) or higher at the desired print size. This ensures sharp details and vibrant colors, making your custom item truly stand out. If your artwork is for stickers, also consider its intended purpose: water-resistant stickers are ideal for items like water bottles that will frequently get wet.

What if my image file is too large to upload?

If your image file is too large for direct upload, please contact us at snarkandsparknc@gmail.com. We can provide alternative secure methods for file transfer, such as a cloud storage link, to ensure we receive your high-quality artwork without compression issues.

Can you help me refine my design or create one from scratch?

Absolutely! If you have an idea but need help bringing it to life, our design team at Snark and Spark can assist with minor adjustments or even full custom design work. Reach out to us with your vision, and we'll discuss the possibilities and any associated design fees.

Will I see a proof of my design before it's printed?

Yes, for all custom orders, we provide a digital proof for your approval before production begins. This allows you to review the design, placement, and colors to ensure everything is exactly as you envisioned. Your satisfaction is our priority!

How should I name my artwork files?

Please name your artwork files clearly, including your order number (if you have one) and a brief description of the design. For example: `Order123_MyLogo_FrontShirt.png` or `CustomCoaster_FamilyPhoto.jpeg`. This helps us efficiently match your artwork to your order.

What if I have an image with a transparent background?

For designs requiring a transparent background, please provide your files in PNG or SVG format. These file types support transparency best, ensuring your design integrates seamlessly onto your chosen custom item without any unwanted white boxes or borders.
